  • Publish Date:December 22nd, 2022

With the New Year fast-approaching, we can’t help but reflect on the past 12 months.

Thinking about all the incredible adventures, growth, and travel we were a part of inspired us to create Gap Wrapped, a celebration of the life-changing, international gap experiences our students embarked on in 2022!

We had students intern internationally across almost every continent

Talk about a global network!

From Asia to Europe, EF Gap Year students worked abroad in the fashion, financial, travel and tourism industries, as well as at business, educational, and legal enterprises—to name just a few.

Fun fact: marketing was the most popular field for our internships.

Our travelers discovered the significance of meaningful service

EF Gap students set out to be a force for good in the world, collaborating with their cohort and local communities to complete service & sustainability-centric projects in 1 of 6 countries: Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, and Thailand.

  • They swam with sea turtles and walked alongside elephants.

  • They also planted mangroves—lots of ’em. In fact, over 2,750,000 mangrove trees have been planted EF-wide. That's 1,876 acres of mangroves reforested so far!
