Brooke Barsanti

EF Gap Year Consultant – Boston, MA

Honestly, school just wasn’t my "thing"–or so I thought! Other than tolerating English and hating math, I had no clarity or passion from an academic standpoint during high school; it wasn’t until I chose to do an alternative spring break in Latin America that I realized how lucky I was to receive an education, and how powerful travel can be.

One alternative spring break led to another, which lead to studying abroad in the Czech Republic, which led to traveling most of Europe, hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, roadtripping through Ireland, and ultimately ending up at EF! The best learning takes place in oceans of Costa Rica, the museums in France, and the crowded streets of Beijing.

I manage our Educational Partnerships and would love to connect with any high schools, counselors, or educators that want to learn more about EF Gap Year. Let's chat!

Brooke's Ultimate Gap Year

My dream itinerary changes on a weekly basis, but these three are always in the rotation!

Language in Málaga, Spain

I imagine myself walking to class along the colorful coastline of the vibrant Costa del Sol. School in a 20th century Mediterranean villa? Walking distance to local markets, restaurants, shopping, AND the beach? Sí, por favor!

Internship in Dublin, Ireland

Ireland is one of my favorite places in the world! The folklore and fairytales, the rolling hills of green, castles, the Irish coast, fish and chips–the list goes on. The professional atmosphere in Ireland is casual and laid back, plus the Irish tend to be friendly and fun, which is just my speed!

I've always wanted to swim in the turquoise seas, work on coral restoration, and gain a better understanding of Dominican culture and history.
