Frequently Asked Questions

Earning college credit during your gap experience comes with a lot of questions. We’ve answered the ones we get most often.

When during my EF Gap do I complete my SNHU coursework?
  • The SNHU coursework that you complete is in addition to the organized activities and excursions built into your EF Gap program. Your assignments will build directly upon your gap experiences.
  • You will complete SNHU coursework during the corresponding program modules, usually during free days, evenings, and weekends off.
  • You will still participating in all organized EF activities and excursions. We want you to have a well-rounded experience!
  • Typically, you will complete your final project for a module at a convenient time after its completion or soon after returning home.
What will my EF Gap Global Scholars course experience be like?
  • The academic path is as varied as you need it to be. Course assignments along the way support you in actively thinking and documenting your global understanding and provide the building blocks for an international career.
  • You will document these connections by creating podcasts, journals, multimedia presentations, taking actions, or anything that can meaningfully contribute to a final course reflection.
  • Regular discussions with SNHU can happen during the course, or at the end of the course. We want to make communication simple as you pursue an academic path that both challenges them and inspires them.
What can I do with the college credit I receive from these classes?
  • Depending on the university, college, or academic program you enter, you may be able to submit them for consideration as substitutions for degree requirements or general elective requirements.
  • You can list them on your resume as relevant course work related to your EF Gap Program. If you are planning on being an EF Global Scholar, you should list that too!
  • If you are writing entrance essays after or during your EF Gap Program, you should reflect on the learning you did, the way you did it, and what you now know about how to excel as a self-directed, reflective college student.
