Most people have never been to Leadership Academy, so we get a lot of questions about how it works. Here are a few of the questions we get most often.

Where does Leadership Academy take place?

For the EF Gap Year and Semester programs, Leadership Academy takes place half an hour outside of London at Ashridge House.

Once a royal residence to Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I, Ashridge House is a lavish former English country estate that has been home to Ashridge Business School since 1959 and Hult International Business School since 2015.

For Costa Rica Immersion, Leadership Academy takes place at the University for Peace in San José. Created by the UN General Assembly, the University for Peace has been training leaders for peace for the past four decades.

What will I be learning?

Experts in business and international relations will lead you through a carefully-designed syllabus that builds skills in four critical areas of leadership:

  • Global awareness
  • Self-awareness
  • Influencing others
  • Effective execution

You’ll also take the internationally-recognized Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment to help you enhance your natural talents and navigate your blind spots better.

Is Leadership Academy fun?

Yes! How could reuniting with your cohort at a castle or famous university to learn deep truths about yourselves and unpack your experiences not be fun?
